Another Fun Family Friday
We enjoyed another Family Friday this week, with parents and carers joining us in class to work alongside their children and see their learning.
Thank you for joining us and we look forward to welcoming parents and carers to the next Family Friday, on the 6th of February from 8:45 – 9:15 am.
Love Hackney Newspaper Feature
In the latest edition of the Love Hackney magazine / newspaper, there is a feature mentioning the Hackney Peace Mural Memorial, which is made up of models created by pupils from Holy Trinity and older people from Dalston Eastern Curve Garden’s social groups. We are really grateful to the Curve Garden for involving us in this brilliant project!
Attendance
Unfortunately, no classes have exceeded our target of 95% this week. This is worrying as children really benefit from starting term at the same time as their peers so that they don’t miss the start of new units of learning.
I am writing to share the following information with all parents, although I appreciate that the vast majority of children have attendance over 95% (which is good attendance) and 98% (which is excellent attendance):
- Is My Child Too Ill for School? The link here is NHS guidance to help parents / carers understand when children should / should not be at school.
- Holidays in term time: please note that holidays cannot be authorised in term time. There are only 190 teaching days in each year and the school is held to account for pupil attendance. We are unable to authorise any holidays in term time and these automatically result in referral for a Penalty Charge Notice (fine).
- Attendance below 90% is termed ‘persistent absence’ and local authority attendance officers track attendance for pupils with attendance below 90% when they visit the school.
