Good nutrition is essential during childhood, as it is a time of rapid growth, development and activity.
We know the importance of healthy and balanced diets, this is more important for the development of children at the early stages. A healthy and balanced diets helps children develop, grow and even remain active, enthusiastic and happy.
At such an early stage we understand the importance of our children’s health, while they develop with us, they are developing physically and building healthy habits. Maintaining a good source of nutrition is vital to help build their bones and teeth, we believe what we do today will help them in years to come.
Fruits and vegetables are essential for children. Our staff play a key role in introducing the children to a wide variety of foods and establishing a pattern of regular meals and healthy snacks. Staff encourage interaction between the children, good table manners and the development of social skills. Staff are also on hand to support and assist, if needed.
Breakfast, lunch, dinner and the snacks in-between are provided for all fee paying children. (Funded only children have the option to purchase meals). We have our own chef and all meals are prepared and cooked fresh, each day on site.
Fresh drinking water is available in all rooms throughout the day. We promote a healthy diet with the children being able to have a choice of puddings and providing fruit and vegetables at every meal.
Your child’s transition to solid foods can be challenging. We will work with you during the weaning period to ensure you are fully leading the next stage of your child’s development with their meals. The arrangements for children’s meals and snacks will, of course, be dependent on your child’s sessions whilst attending the preschool.
We cater for children with special dietary requirements and individual needs are discussed with the child’s key worker, the manager and the cook.
