School trips are an important part of school life. Trips enrich the curriculum and provide many opportunities for our children to develop resilience, ask questions and travel through the ages.
At Holy Trinity, we believe that learning extends far beyond the classroom. Educational visits and school trips are an important part of our curriculum, bringing learning to life and creating memorable experiences which inspire and motivate our pupils.
Through carefully planned visits, children deepen their understanding, develop independence and build confidence, while strengthening friendships and teamwork skills.
Educational visits help to:
Enrich and enhance classroom learning
Provide real-life experiences linked to the curriculum
Develop social skills, resilience and independence
Encourage curiosity and a love of learning
Build cultural capital and broaden horizons
Whether exploring local history, visiting places of worship, taking part in outdoor learning or experiencing theatre and museums, every trip has a clear educational purpose.
Each year group participates in visits which directly support their learning. This may include:
Science workshops and hands-on investigations
Theatre trips to enrich English and the arts
Environmental and outdoor learning experiences
We also welcome visitors into school, including authors, theatre groups, sports coaches and community organisations, to further enhance learning.
Older pupils have the opportunity to take part in residential visits. These experiences are often a highlight of primary school life. Residentials help children to:
Develop independence and responsibility
Strengthen teamwork and leadership skills
Build resilience and confidence
Create lasting memories with their peers
All residential visits are carefully planned with safety, wellbeing and educational value at the forefront.
The safety and wellbeing of our pupils is our highest priority. All visits are thoroughly risk assessed and carefully organised in line with local authority guidance. Staff are experienced and trained to ensure children are well supported at all times.
Parents are provided with detailed information in advance, including itineraries, costs and consent forms. We aim to make trips as inclusive as possible and will always support families where needed.
School trips are often the moments children remember most from their primary years. They spark curiosity, build confidence and provide meaningful experiences that stay with them long after they leave our school.
We are proud to offer a wide range of educational visits that enrich our curriculum and help every child to thrive.
