Reception Goes on a Bear Hunt

We have been exploring using positional language and directional concepts. We used the story ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ to begin and created our own obstacle courses that went ‘through’, ‘over’ and ‘under’. We then created our own story and explored different ways we can move around our environment. We took giant steps ‘up’ the stairs, went ‘down’ a steep silvery slide and stepped ‘through’ a muddy river. We used our environment to explore different positions such as ‘under’, ‘on top’, ‘behind’, ‘in front of’ and ‘next to’.
