07 Dec Lots of Learning in Nursery!
This week, we had so much fun exploring how to categorise objects according to their properties, such as size. We learned new words like bigger, smaller, biggest, and smallest and practised using them throughout our activities.
One of our favourite tasks was putting different-sized bears in order, from the smallest to the biggest, and matching different-sized bowls to the bears – just like in the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears!
The highlight of our week was a science experiment inspired by Goldilocks! We wondered:
“Which cereal will be the soggiest when the bears get back from their walk?”
We tested different cereals with milk and observed how they changed over time. Then, we gave advice to the bears:
- Which cereal stayed the least soggy.
- How much milk to add.
- When to pour the milk.
- How long their walk should be.
The children loved pouring and measuring milk, making predictions, and sharing their observations. It was an exciting hands-on way to combine science, storytelling, and problem-solving!
We look forward to more fun and learning next week!
