28 Apr EYFS Play & Talk Workshops
We are so excited to share with you our Play & Talk workshops!
These workshops have been designed to share with parents and carers four different interaction strategies alongside activities that can be used at home in order to support the development of communication and language for our children. These workshops are inclusive for all of our learners across Early Years, from our babies to our Reception children.
They will be a sequence of workshops, building on from each other, and will include some hands-on activities.
Wednesday 3rd May – 8.30am-9.00am: Sharing a story – Asking fewer questions
Monday 15th May – 8.30am-9:00am: Making play-dough – Recast and extend
Wednesday 24th May – 8.30am-9.00am: Telephone cups – Running commentary
Wednesday 14th June – 8.30-9:00am: I Spy – Pause more
We will be running these sessions at 8.30am in our school hall, before drop off. We will have some activities set up for the children and some additional staff to support this.
This has been planned to match the days where we have Stay & Play sessions in our PreSchool, offering the opportunity to apply the workshop strategy straight after during your play!
