21 Apr Identifying 2D and 3D shapes in Year 1
In Maths, Year 1 have been learning to identify both two-dimensional and three-dimensional shapes. Some of the activities have included finding everyday objects in the classroom and outdoor learning environment, and recognising the mathematical names for each shape. Furthermore, we have discussed the properties of each shape and talked about the key difference between 2D and 3D shapes. In this photograph we can see Year 1 manipulating straws to make and display a range of 2D shapes. This helped them to understand and record how many sides and corners each shape has.
