Lighting the Third Candle in our Advent Wreath

This week we celebrated the joy of Christmas by wearing our bright and brilliant Christmas jumpers! Reverend Laura reminded us that we are now in the period of Advent which will be followed by the Feast of the Epiphany. We then lit the third candle on our Advent wreath, which is aptly named the ‘Joy Candle’. In the Bible, Philippians 4: 4-5 encourages all people to “rejoice,” for “indeed the Lord is near.”
