24 Mar Maths with biscuits in Reception
We have been revisiting our number knowledge and exploring ways to describe what we have around us! To help us make connections and for us to see that we can use our wonderful maths knowledge every single day, we used biscuits! We had 3 different packets of biscuits to choose from. First we estimated how many there may be in each packet. Then we opened them, counted our collection and presented it in a way that our friend could see how many there were! We had lots of fun changing the way they looked! After that we compared collections talking about which plate had ‘more’, ‘fewer’, what one more would be, what one less would be and how many we had altogether as a pair!
