2D Shapes in Year 1 Maths

This week, Year 1 have been exploring 2‑D shapes in a hands‑on and exciting way. The children have been spotting shapes around the classroom and using mathematical words like sides and corners to describe what they see.

They also created their own fantastic pictures by combining different 2‑D shapes, showing brilliant creativity and growing confidence in their shape knowledge.

We’re so proud of their enthusiasm and can’t wait to build on this learning.
