14 Jun Year 6 Science: Learning about Electricity
In Science this week, we have been learning about Electricity. We explored the difference between electrical insulators and conductors by creating a circuit using a bulb, wire, aluminium foil, a cell and cotton thread.
During the investigation, we were able to notice that aluminium foil could be formed to create another wire due to its conductive properties. We were able to create one complete circuit – sans the cotton thread – which we identified as an insulator. We then consolidated our learning, through a game called ‘The Human Circuit’ where we were assigned an electric component and had to work collectively to attempt to build a successful circuit in order to get the robot to work.
