30 Nov Nursery Meet the Everywhere Bear
This week in Nursery we set off on a new adventure with our story The Everywhere Bear by Julia Donaldson.
The children loved following the tale of a classroom teddy who normally goes home each weekend with a different child. When he slips out of a backpack, he ends up on a surprise journey around town, meeting animals, facing different kinds of weather and bumping into all sorts of people.
To help bring the story to life, we made Lost posters for the Everywhere Bear and displayed them around the classroom as we pretended to search for him.
Our little artists also explored different ways to make their own bears by modelling clay and painting with forks to create textured fur.
The highlight of the week was meeting our very own Nursery Everywhere Bear. The children proudly showed him around the classroom, sharing their routines and favourite activities. Starting from next Tuesday, the bear will go home with one child for special adventures. We cannot wait to hear the stories your children bring back!
In Maths we learned how to sort objects by properties such as shape and colour, then went on a lively colour and shape hunt around the classroom.
In Phonics we introduced our new sound, s.
