06 Feb Lots of Learning in Nursery
This week in Nursery, we had an exciting time celebrating Chinese New Year! We learned about the story of the 12 animals’ race and explored different symbols and traditions linked to the Lunar New Year. One of our favourite activities was painting fireworks using finger paints and glitter. The children loved swirling bright colours onto their cards and watching their creations sparkle.
Our storytime continued with Naughty Bus, and we let our imaginations run wild by creating our own parts of the story. During carpet time, each friend who wanted to added a new twist to the adventure. We had some wonderfully creative ideas and lots of giggles as the story grew.
In maths, we explored comparing sizes. We looked at big and small objects, as well as short and long ones. One of our most exciting activities was measuring our hands using interlocking cubes and then comparing them with our friends’. It was a fun, hands-on way to learn about size and measurement.
In RE, we made Christingles, learning about what each part represents. We talked about light, love and sharing, and how the candle reminds us of Jesus as the light of the world. The children enjoyed carefully putting the Christingles together and talking about how they can be kind and caring to others.
We had such a wonderful week full of learning, creativity, and laughter. We can’t wait for more adventures next week.
Have a lovely weekend!
