Hosting the Annual Hackney Year 6 Combined Service at All Saints Church

We were really happy to host the annual Year 6 Combined Service at All Saints Church this week. Pupils from six Hackney primary schools and Urswick secondary school gathered together to consider the theme Becoming Who You Are. We celebrated who we are and considered that you don’t have to know exactly who you are going to become… as you grow, discover your gifts, make mistakes, face challenges and meet new people, God knows you, loves you and is with you. We heard readings from 1 Samuel 3:10, where Samuel was called by God. At the time, Samuel was still a boy. He didn’t have all the answers, but he was willing to listen, learn and discover. Pupils told us about their experiences and what makes them unique. We got to pose questions to pupils from Urswick, asking about their experiences of transitioning to secondary school and the advice they would give Year 6. We particularly enjoyed singing My Lighthouse together. A special thank you to Rev Laura, Nick and Urswick for their valuable contributions to the service.
