Character descriptions inspired by the book FArTHER in Year 4

We have made an excellent start to the new year! In English we are looking at the story ‘FArTHER’ by Grahame Baker Smith. We started off our topic by using expanded noun phrases to describe the characters within the story. We are starting to write letters from the perspective of the son.

In History we will be learning about the British empire and how it impacted the world in the 20th century. We also have started to learn about significant individuals who changed the world. For example, in our Reading lessons we have also begun looking at the book ‘Long Walk to Freedom’ by Nelson Mandela.
