Nursery: All About Plants!

Exploring Plants!

This week, we kicked off our new topic—Plants—with the story “Lola Plants a Garden.”  The children loved getting to know Lola and learning about how she planted her very own garden.

Inspired by the story, we explored the different parts of a plant and discovered what each part does. Roots, stems, leaves and flowers—all with their own special jobs!

We also visited our school library to hunt for books about plants and gardening. The children were full of curiosity, flipping through pages and finding fun facts about all kinds of flowers and greenery.

Back in the classroom, we put our creativity to work by drawing our favourite flowers and even learned how to plant a seed ourselves—getting ready to try it ourselves next week!

It’s been a fun and fascinating start to our plant adventure—more green fun to come next week!
