20 Jul Nursery’s Week of Learning and Preparation for Change!
This week, we explored our final topic: “Transition and Changes.” We read the story “How Have I Grown?” and reflected on how much we’ve changed since we were babies. The children loved looking at their baby photos and guessing who the baby was — lots of giggles and “aha” moments as we spotted how our bodies and skills have grown!
On Monday, we read “Archimedes’ Bath” and turned into little scientists. Inspired by the story, we asked: “Can you fill Archimedes’ bath without spilling any water?” The children experimented with water displacement, discovering how adding objects to a full container causes it to overflow. Lots of curious minds at work!
In Maths, we focused on shapes — choosing the right ones to build and draw, like using a triangle for a house roof. We also revisited 2D and 3D shapes, recalling their names and key properties.
But the absolute highlight of the week was our Graduation celebration! The children proudly made their own graduation hats and filled in their special graduation books, sharing their dreams for the future and favourite memories from the past year. It was a lovely way to round off a year full of growth, learning, and fun.
