17 Jan Wintery Learning in Nursery
This week, we continued exploring our exciting topic: Winter. The children have been busy learning through play and enjoyed a range of creative and hands-on activities:
Snow People Creations
The children built snow people using playdough and drew them with chalk. These activities encouraged imagination while helping to develop fine motor skills.
Ice Art
We experimented with drawing with ice cubes on the whiteboard and painting with icy paint. The children loved exploring different textures and effects. They also enjoyed mixing colours, creating beautiful shades and blends while learning how colours change when combined.
Science Fun
The children took part in a simple science experiment to observe how ice melts. This sparked lots of curiosity and supported early scientific thinking as they watched and discussed what was happening.
Story Re-enactment
To finish the week, we re-enacted our core text, The Snowy Day, using our small world tray. This brought the story to life and encouraged storytelling, imagination and collaborative play.
The children have had a wonderful time learning and playing together this week, and we are so proud of their enthusiasm and curiosity.
