23 Mar Year 1: Learning About Plants in Science
We completed our Science learning sequence this week by comparing the similarities and differences between plants. To begin with, the children recalled the names of a range of plants they have been learning about including poppies, nettles, geraniums and dandelions. Afterwards, the children worked together to compare the parts of plants that they have learnt about previously. We came to the conclusion that whilst different types of plants are similar because they have roots, stems and leaves, these parts can vary in size and appearance. Furthermore, the flowers on different plants can look wildly different and some plants do not have any flowers at all!
