Year 5 Art, Inspired by John Dyer: Ombré Style Backgrounds

Year 5 have started their art project this week, based on the work of John Dyer. After looking at his work, we could see the background, mid ground and foreground, and discussed how paintings can comprise of different layers to build effect. The children decided on their colour palette, and created ombré style backdrops, blending the colours across their canvases using only horizontal brush strokes, ready to add detail in the coming days.
