Year 6 Investigate Mould Growth in Science

In Science this week, we conducted an investigation about microorganisms; we worked in groups to plan an experiment that would allow us to measure (over time) the growth of mould under various conditions.

We controlled the amount of water on each slice of bread using a pipette, ensuring no more than 2ml on slice A and 5ml on slice B – this ensures it is a fair test. Each sample was then carefully sealed in a ziplock bag and placed in a different location.

Next week, we will observe the changes under a microscope.
