Year 6 Use Cuisinaire to Solve Mathematical Problems

This week in Maths, Year 6 have been developing their understanding of efficient methods for solving mathematical problems. The children have been exploring a range of multiplicative and additive structures, using Cuisenaire rods to represent problems and identify missing parts.

They have been encouraged to explain their thinking, make connections between different representations and choose efficient strategies to solve problems.
