14 Jun Clergy Collective Worship: Loving Others
In our clergy collective worship this week, we explored Matthew 9:9–13. In these verses, Jesus calls Matthew, a tax collector, to follow Him. Jesus then shares a meal with tax collectors and other people who were often looked down upon by society. When the Pharisees questioned why Jesus spent time with such people, He explained that He came to help those who need mercy and guidance, not to judge them. From this passage, we learned to never underestimate ourselves or others and not to judge people based on their past, appearance, or mistakes. Instead, we should show kindness, acceptance and compassion to everyone.
