Clergy Collective Worship: What is Prayer?

In our Clergy collective worship this week, we thought about what prayer is. Rev Laura told us about the Church of Pater Nostra, in the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem. This is where it is traditionally believed that Jesus taught the Lord’s Prayer to his disciples. Princess Aurelie de Bossi de la Tour d’Auvergne bought the ruins of the site in the mid-19th century and commissioned 39 ceramic plaques, sharing the Lord’s Prayer in different languages. There are now over 140 beautiful and unique ceramic hand-crafted ceramic plaques at the Church of Pater Nostra, sharing the Lord’s Prayer in many languages. We heard the Lord’s Prayer in Aramaic and thought about what prayer is.
