This week, we kicked off a brand new topic: Minibeasts! Our new story, “Arghh, Spider!” got everyone excited about creepy crawlies. We explored different minibeasts and discovered fun facts about our favourites.
The children got creative making spiders using all sorts of materials and techniques: playdough, paint stamping, handprints, drawing on paper and even large-scale spider art on the whiteboard.
In Maths, we learned a handy trick to help with counting—lining up objects from left to right so we don’t count the same one twice. We also played a fun game where we threw pompoms (pretending they were bugs!) at a sticky “spider web” made from masking tape, then counted how many stuck.
It’s been a busy, buggy week!
